ONE EXACT BELIEF
Collapsing lapse of lazy days
Relaxing by the fires,
The mind in shards regards the flames
Of telescoping spires,
And asks itself why reason wanes
In ramping up desires.
Containing rain in bottled tears
Denying every grief,
The body dressed in tawdry means
And modes correctly brief,
Awakens on a string of beads
With one exact belief.
